Singleness Is a Gift—Marriage Is a Choice

In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul presents singleness not as a burden, but as a virtue. He speaks of it as a gift that allows for undivided devotion to the Lord—free from the responsibilities that often accompany marriage.

And yet, in many church communities today, marriage remains the assumed norm. This can unintentionally leave singles feeling like they’re in a waiting room—on pause until they “arrive” at the next stage.

We believe the Church can do better.

Singleness isn’t a transitional phase. It’s a meaningful, purposeful season—sometimes even a lifetime calling—that deserves celebration and support. We long to see a culture where the single life is honored, not just tolerated. Where belonging isn’t tied to relationship status, and community is fully open to every disciple of Jesus.

At Mission.Place, we hold this vision close. And at the same time, we recognize that for many, marriage is a calling—one to be entered with intention, prayer, and partnership.

That’s why we’re excited to share our partnership with ChristianCafe.com. It’s more than a dating site—it’s a community of believers seeking God’s will in love and life.

It’s also where I met my incredible wife, Myriam.

Whether you’re single and thriving or prayerfully discerning your next step, know this:

You are already whole in Christ.

Let’s uplift both paths—singleness and marriage—as sacred callings in the Kingdom of God.
